A: Yes. Community tier is free to use with limit of 10 trades each month.
Q: Is the market data real time?
A: Market data is updated every 15 minutes and up to 15 minutes of delay between 9:30am-4:30pm EST Mon-Fri. Depending on the growth of the community, we may explore a higher tier market data provider.
Q: What time is EOD PL (Profit & Loss) calculated?
A: EOD PL is calculated at 4:35pm EST. Depending on feedback of the community, we may explore different timing.
Q: I entered past trade data, when will I see updated Today PL and other metrics?
A: Calculation of Today PL depends on the previous day EOD PL snapshot. Therefore, it may take up to one day to see accurate Today PL calculation. Other metrics should be available once the market data is updated.
Q: Why is my YTD (Year-to-Date) PL Benchmark chart wrong?
A: The YTD PL benchmark chart calculates performance based on the earliest capital balance it can find for your portfolio or ticker. Without a proper starting capital reference point, the percentage calculations may appear incorrect. To fix this, add a #CASH# ticker entry to establish your beginning-of-year capital balance.
Q: What features are included in the free tier?
A: All features are available to all users. Community tier is only limited by number of trades per month.
Q: How does Thetary track my trades? Do I need to connect my broker?
A: Thetary operates as a manual trading journal. You input your trades directly into our intuitive Tradepad. This gives you full control and privacy, as we do not require direct connections to your brokerage accounts.
Q: What types of options strategies can I track?
A: Thetary is specifically designed to support complex options strategies, with a focus on wheeling (e.g., Covered Calls, Cash-Secured Puts, and Assignments). Our flexible Tradepad allows you to capture and track any multi-leg strategy you build.
Q: How does Thetary calculate Cost Basis?
A: Thetary calculates your true cost basis by factoring in all associated premiums and adjustments for your stock and options positions. For assigned shares, it includes the original option premium to give you an accurate overall cost.
Q: Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
A: Yes, you can cancel your subscription anytime from the billing portal. You will be limited to the Community plan.
